For the current range of computer connected equipment we sell, Abacom offers a consultancy where we will advise on, assemble or upgrade computer systems used with and connected to our products. The emphasis is on maximum performance and utilisation of the solution.

The choice of components is bases on the performance, reliability, compatibility and local representation in Australia of its manufacturers. As a preference mainstream manufacturers are used.

When we do build a workstation for a specific purpose, do not sell an off the shelf package. Each computer is configured for the specific purpose it designed to perform. This include the following.

• Single or Dual processor
• Storage systems with emphasis on lowest CPU overhead, including:
  • Multiple IDE or Serial IDE drives
  • Cost effective IDE hardware or software RAID systems
  • Performance SCSI disks & hardware SCSI RAID systems
  • Tape drives
  • Network Attached Storage
  • Single or multiple CD or DVD writing devices
• Enclosures that are designed to reliably allow computers to run 24 hrs in a day.
• Network infrastructure to allow connectivity between our equipment using current Megabit & Gigabit technologies, including cross platform support for Macintosh, Unix and Linux
